Family Vacation

I am currently on my first family vacation with just my husband and kids. We are at the Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend. I was just sitting in the hot tub and remembered that I had a blog to write that was due yesterday, so I ran up to the room to write it. This is a great place to visit if you have children or if you just like water parks. It is cold outside today so we can not go out side and swim but inside is really the funnest anyways. The slides are awesome. I am going to make this short as I really want to go back and have some fun!

One Tired Girl Here

Oh! I so not know how I make it sometimes. With work, school and home life, this past week I have gotten about 4-5 hours of sleep each night. I get up in the morning between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. in order to get my kids ready for school. When I leave the house at 6:40 a.m. I begin my daily adventures of driving from one side of Shreveport, to Bossier, to Shreveport, back to Bossier and then finally back to Shreveport begins. THe kids get dropped off at school and I head to school myself; depending on what day it is determines how long I am at school. When I get finished with my classes, I drive to have lunch with my husband (some-days this is the only time we get to see one another). After lunch I have about a hour to try to cram in as much homework before I have to get the kids from school. I get the kids at 2:30 and either take them to the house or take them to my husbands work, this all depends on what time I have to work or if my daughter has a soccer game. Then I am off to work for 3:45. Work is long, I usually get out of there around 10:00-11:00 p.m., depending on how busy we were. Then I finally get to go back home, which I haven't been to since early this morning.
This makes for a really long day and a really stressful one. I try to get everything done in such a little time. I have managed to get most of my homework done, I will admit that I have forgotten to do a few things in the last week and I am not happy about this.

Good news! Next weekend I will take a three day break! I am taking my kids to The Great Wolf Lodge. This considered  I will get some rest, but I am not sure about any homework that I will have. I am going to try to get everything done before we leave where I will not have to stress about it when I am trying to relax. Okay, I think that I have complained enough about how tired I am, but in the long run it will all be worth it.

Nasty Stuff Going Around

Uh! I thought that I had avoided that stomach bug that is going around, but I didn't. Today is the first day that I have been able to spend my day outside of the bathroom. I was so sick I thought that I was going to die. I missed turning in so much of my homework in my online classes and my classes I attend on campus that I am going to have to work extra hard to make sure that I get all of the points that I can on all of my assignments.
So I hope that none of you have to experience this stomach bug that is going around and if you do I know how you feel. Like death.

Sneaky Daughter

I am going to tell you how sneaky kids can be. Last week my daughter was going to eat with some friends, so I gave her $20 to pay for her meal and told her to bring me back the change. When she returned home I was at work and she tried to give it to her dad, but he told her to keep it. I was not aware of this and I had forgotten that I was suppose to get change.
While working Sunday afternoon, I received a text from her asking if I would take her to get some shoes. She said that she had some money and was going to pay for them. I agreed to take her.
Well I took her this afternoon to get the shoes and I thought that I would be nice and buy her another pair that she wanted. I paid with my debit card and she put the money that she had into my purse. On our way to her soccer game I remembered that I never received my change and it got me to thinking. I looked in my purse and she had put $20 in there. My wheels started to turn and I asked her if that was the same money that I gave her to pay for her dinner. She said no and began to laugh. That was the same money!! How sneaky is that. So instead of me just buying her one pair of shoes, I really bought them both. It was a very smart thing for her to do, but very sneaky at the same time.

Mardi Gras Parades

While I was attending the Mardi Gras parade last Saturday with my family and friends, I realized that people do not teach their children manners. Also, parents really do not keep watch over their kids very well.
I had my two children and I tool my friends three girls with me because she was ill. There were also five more adults with us and ten other kids ranging from 2-16.  The whole time we had a watch over our children and made sure that they did not go out of our sight, but I can not say the same for the people around us. We had several children wonder over to where we were and start playing with our kids and later the parents would frantically come looking fro them. I do not understand this.

I also came to the conclusion that parents do not teach their children manners either. Like I said before, we had several children under the age of ten. These kids love to get things off of the floats and love to watch them go by. I had an issue with older kids getting in front of the babies and then taking everything that was thrown their way. I was so furious at these kids, but I managed not to say anything to them. I was there to make sure that the kids had a good time, not to argue and fight with kids and their parents.
